§ 01How dinner works
A chef’s menu, by reservation.
Dinner is a chef’s menu of Canadiana favourites that changes with the season, in the lodge’s own dining room. Here is how an evening goes.
Reserve
All dining is by reservation
Tables are limited, so every dinner is booked ahead. Cabin guests and the public are both welcome, and we hold a table for cabin guests on each night of their stay.
Choose
You choose from the kitchen’s list, from first plate to last
From smoke to sizzle, the kitchen cooks hearty Canadian classics, and the menu changes with the season. A salad comes to the table to share, and there is a vegetarian entrée every night.
Included
A drink and the gratuity, no cheque at the end
In 2026 the chef’s menu included a drink (wine, beer or soft drink) and all gratuities. We confirm 2027 prices when reservations open.
Looked after
Tell us about allergies when you reserve
Gluten-free and vegetarian guests are well looked after, and with about a day’s notice the kitchen can do more, like dedicated fryer oil and gluten-free buns. We are not a peanut or tree nut free kitchen.

They can’t come into the dining room.
§ 02The room
A 1949 lodge, in the trees.
We serve dinner in the lodge’s historic dining room: wooden tables, a timber roof overhead and big windows onto the trees. When an evening is warm, the patio is just outside the door.

§ 03Breakfast for guests
Breakfast is included, dinner is a short walk.
A hot breakfast buffet comes with every stay, 8 to 10 each morning. For dinner, a table is held for you each night of your stay. For something more casual, lodge guests also have a cabin-service menu of pub food before and after dinner service.

Do I need a reservation?
Yes. All dining is by reservation, and tables are limited. Dinner is open to cabin guests and to everyone else. The menu page shows how to reserve.
How much is dinner?
We confirm 2027 prices when reservations open. In 2026 the chef’s menu included a drink and all gratuities, so there was no cheque at the end.
Is breakfast included?
Yes, with every stay. Breakfast is a buffet for lodge guests, served in the lodge or out on the patio, 8 to 10 with coffee on from 7:30.
What about allergies?
Tell us when you reserve. We are not a peanut or tree nut free kitchen, so please say so if you need that.
Do you serve alcohol?
Yes. The lodge is fully licensed, with local beer and wine, and dinner includes a drink.
Where are you?
462 Huron Road, South Bruce Peninsula, in the woods about 25 minutes from Sauble Beach and three hours from Toronto.
When do you reopen?
Friday, May 21, 2027. We are closed for the season until then.
